A new Phoenix infill community with brightly colored houses starting in the $400,000s is going up at 12th Street and Bell Road. Called Encanto at Bell Park, the development will have 35 houses ranging in size from 1,323 to 1,912 square feet. Prices will go up to $600,000 for the houses with small, landscaped yards. Construction has already started on the homes that come in eight different colors. “We focused on walkability and entry-level housing for young professionals and recent retirees,” said the community’s developer, Justin Johnson. The new community is in walking distance of a large grocery store and restaurants. It will also have a small park with a fire pit and a dog washing station. “Condos built several years ago in the area are selling for nearly as much as our new single-family homes,” said Cory Mishkin of Cambridge Properties, which is working with Johnson on the development. The median new home price in the Phoenix area was $504,924 in January, according to RL Brown Housing Reports.
